Old Meets Young: University of Bremen Creates Spaces for Intergenerational Exchange

How does another generation actually love, live, and think, and what can we learn from one another?

That is exactly what this event on April 16, 2026, in the “Science goes Public” series is all about: young and old coming together to talk to one another as equals. No lecture-style presentation, but genuine conversations about topics that affect us all, such as climate change, the intergenerational contract, or intergenerational living in a neighborhood?!

Participants will share insights from the project “Old Meets Young – Dialogues Between Generations,” which Dr. Cordula Weißköppel has been organizing since 2024 as a collaboration between the Bachelor’s program in Cultural Studies and the Bremen University of the Third Age, and which is funded by the University Foundation.

When? Thursday, April 16, 2026, at 8:30 p.m. at Butschern, Sielwall intersection in the Bremer Viertel
