The program also deals with the learning, testing and didactic reflection of media-based teaching strategies, as well as with artistic designs and art and media theoretical content in schools, museums and exhibitions. In the teaching options, the field of Aesthetic education and subject didactics is deepened. The ability to practice one's own artistic practice is promoted as well as a critically reflexive and productive use of media.

Currently, three professors, two private lecturers, seven academic staff members and several teaching staff with special teaching duties are part of the program.

This apprenticeship is supplemented by teaching assignments and honorary professorships, which are held by employees of Bremen's art and cultural institutions, e.g. the Kunsthalle and the Neues Museum Weserburg. Other teaching assignments are also alternately given to other persons who are active in the field of art education as freelance curators or in the press, the specialist press, radio or television; or to persons who supplement the curriculum within the meaning of the study regulations in certain areas, such as in art-scientific gender studies.

The didactic teaching in the art education course is accompanied by practical teachers. The artistic-practical training takes place through the secondment of art educators and the assignment of teaching assignments to artists.

The program offers the following work opportunities in the field of practical training: a studio for painting, drawing, graphics; a studio for sculptural design, sculpture, object; a photo lab with eight workstations and a place for digital image editing; a studio and a repro in the printing lab with eight workstations, also with the possibility of electronic image processing. An ongoing diathek currently includes about 15,000 slides. Central University facilities, which can also be used by the Arts Education program, provide a recording studio for video, electronic editing desks and computer-aided image editing facilities.
