Tutorials, self-study courses, workshops and more
The SZHB regularly offers a range of self-study courses, tutorials, workshops and other foramts to assist you with your language learning.
Some of our tutorials are designed to refresh your grammar knowledge in a particular language, others help you to prepare for specific tests and exams. In the winter semester, we offer a Grammar Tutorial for English.
Our workshops help you to improve your pronunciation, your listening skills or develop strategies whereby you can integrate your language learning into your daily routine.
Self-study courses are available in the English (Academic English on your own).
It's worth checking back regularly, as new offers are always being added.
And there's an added bonus - all our additonal programmes are free of charge! They are not intended as a substitute for a language course, rather to help you achieve your own learning goals. No ECTS can be acquired. These offers are available to students at the University of Bremen and and the universities of appliecd science in Bremen and Bremerhaven.

Information and Concept:
The Academic English self-study course helps you become more confident in academic communication. Participants expand their vocabulary, practice complex sentence structures, and learn to write texts and give presentations in a more precise and descriptive manner. The course also promotes the understanding of academic texts and strengthens the ability to justify opinions and engage in discussions competently.
On average, the course lasts eight weeks and requires 5–10 hours of study per week.

You can expect exciting topics such as the targeted expansion of your academic vocabulary, advanced grammar for precise writing, and techniques for greater clarity and accuracy in academic texts.
