B1 certificate English
Proof of English language competence with a German Abitur or Fachabitur
- A1: at least 1 year of language instruction at school
- A2: at least 3 years of language instruction at school
- B1: At least four years of language instruction through 10th grade (MSA, FOS, GYM) OR
- B1: At least three years of language instruction through the Abitur/Fachabitur (FOS, GYM)
Note: These regulations regarding proof of language proficiency by means of the German Abitur/Fachabitur are valid for the admission process at the University of Bremen; other public universities in the state of Bremen may have different regulations in some cases. When applying to other public universities, we recommend consulting with the respective admissions offices regarding their specific requirements for admission.
Obtaining a UNIcert I certificate
The UNIcert® I certificate is recognized as proof of language proficiency at level B1 for admission to Bachelor's and Master's degree programs at universities in the state of Bremen, as well as at all accredited institutions.
The program consists of two courses:

| English B 1.2 | Entry level B 1.1 (at course start) | 2 SWS | 3 CP |
