French examination dates in 2025

The Language Center is offering several opportunities to acquire the B1 certificate in French in 2025.


Intensive courses are still running

Our intensive course program has not ended yet and there are still courses you can sign up for! In March, we are offering courses in many languages as well as a three-day training on pluricultural communication skills.


Language Days in 2025

In 2025, the SZHB, the Bremer Kulturinstitut and the Bremen City Library are once again teaming up to organize Language Days. The dates for the first events have now been set, with more to follow over the course of the year. We look forward to welcoming visitors of all ages!


Renovation of the SLZ at the university

Over the next three weeks, renovation work will be carried out in the Language Resource Center (Selbstlernzentrum Sprachen) at the University of Bremen.


New training course: Pluricultural Communication Skills

In March 2025, we will be offering a brand new three-day training course on “Pluricultural Communication Skills”. This practical training will be held in English and is open to students from all subject areas.


Tutoring program during the semester break

Registration is now open for the tutoring program for independent language learning during the semester break. Participation is free of charge for students.


YUFE Language cafés during the semester break

The online YUFE language cafés will be taking place from February to the beginning of April. Five languages are included in the program. Students at the University of Bremen can participate free of charge.


Assessing Writing: An article by Claudia Harsch et al. has been selected for the Editors' Choice List

The article by Claudia Harsch, Valeriia Koval, Voula Kanistra and Ximena Delgado-Osorio, published in Assessing Writing, has been selected by the journal editors for the Editors' Choice list.


Registration for intensive courses in 2025 is open

In February and March 2025, the Language Center is offering intensive courses for nine languages. Registration is now open. The tutoring program for independent language learning will also take place during the semester break.


Arabic Language Day 2024

On December 16, the SZHB is offering an afternoon of language activities at the central library to celebrate Arabic Language Day.
