International focus

Latin American History at the University of Bremen maintains an international focus in both teaching and research. It engages in ongoing, close collaboration with historians in Europe and the Americas, as well as with scholars from other disciplines who regularly give lectures and offer workshops and courses. Visiting lecturers present their current research and contribute to teaching on campus. Agreements with foreign universities offer interested students excellent opportunities to learn about other academic cultures and develop intercultural skills. In addition, the Latin American History research group promotes international networking by bringing visiting scholars from a wide variety of countries to Bremen.
