On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall and in view of current attempts to politically take over the "Wende", the panel discussion at the Viadrina Center "B/ORDERS IN MOTION" reminds us of the future drafts of that time and balances the consequences of the opening of the border and the accompanying transformations of the political, social and economic orders.

It is discussed to what extent new borders were drawn between East and West after the fall of the Berlin Wall and whether these can be traced back to disappointed expectations. Are new East/West identities emerging and who is authorized to design them and speak on their behalf?
