Start-ups straight from Bremen’s universities

Have you developed an idea as part of your degree course or would you like to turn your hobby into your career? It doesn’t matter which discipline your idea originates from, we at BRIDGE help you to take the next step with your idea. Maybe lots of different ideas are involved, or you need some feedback on your business model or a specific support program - we support you along your path to your own business.

What is BRIDGE?

BRIDGE is the central point of contact for matters relating to business start-ups for students, alumni, and members of the universities in Bremen. The funding providers of the BRIDGE university network are the University of Bremen, Bremen City University of Applied Sciences, the University of Applied Sciences Bremerhaven, Jacobs University, and Bremen Aufbau-Bank GmbH.

What does BRIDGE aim to achieve?

BRIDGE aims to improve the entrepreneurial climate at all participating universities and to promote promising ideas with start-up potential at an early stage.

How do you make contact with us?

Do you have a vague idea for a business start-up? Your next step is to make contact with us: either by phone, email, or carrier pigeon. We will then invite you to an initial advisory discussion – normally face-to-face, but currently via a Zoom call. We then start talking – you will get to know us and the university network, we listen to your ideas. We help you to shape your rough idea into a business model.

We are continuously developing the services we offer and they currently comprise these three elements: advice, events, and CAMPUSiDEEN, a competition for business ideas from Bremen‘s universities.

Advice – at every stage of your start-up

You can make contact with start-up advisors at all participating universities. We advise you on the start-up network, for example, on branding and patent rights, as well as funding programs. Particularly innovative start-up ideas have the chance to receive support from EXIST. At BRIDGE, we deal with two different funding programs in the main as part of EXIST. In addition, we provide advice on various German federal programs and also supply information on regional funding programs and put you in touch with the relevant contact persons.
