Alexandra Zapko-Willmes received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Trier University in 2011 and her master’s degree in psychology from the Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf in 2014. Since 2015, she coordinates the longitudinal DFG project SPeADy. She worked as a research assistant at Bielefeld University from 2015 to 2017 and from 2017 to 2018 at MSB Medical School Berlin. In 2018, she received her Ph.D. degree in psychology for her thesis entitled “Sources of individual differences in sociopolitical orientations: Findings from combining behavior genetic with multi-rater approaches”. She was awarded a prize for her dissertation by the Universitätsgesellschaft Bielefeld. Since January 2019, she is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Bremen.

Research interests:

  • (Quasi-)Causality of individual environmental influences (social environments, life contexts, and life experiences)
  • Gene-environment covariation and gene-environment interaction explaining individual differences
  • Measurement, structure, sources, and development of sociopolitical attitudes, values, motives, and moral foundations
  • Personality concept and development
  • Structural equation modeling of longitudinal and complex twin family data
  • Multimethod approaches (e.g., self- and informant reports)
