                            <description>&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Religion classes in Bremen schools differ fundamentally from what is known as ‘religious education’ in other federal states: they are not organized according to religious affiliations, but are open to all students and not bound to any particular creed. The Institute for the Study of Religion and its Related Didactics is responsible for the didactic training of student teachers in Bremen. Accordingly, concepts and models of its subject area (as opposed to confessional religious education) are placed at the center of both research and teaching.&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;</description>

With this in mind, every &amp;lt;strong&amp;gt;six months&amp;lt;/strong&amp;gt; we cordially invite interested teachers and students to attend various lectures that thematically introduce the mutual exchange of views and joint discussion on the topic. The focus here is on projects that link &amp;lt;strong&amp;gt;theoretical insights and their practical implementation&amp;lt;/strong&amp;gt;, with a significant emphasis on &amp;lt;strong&amp;gt;teaching materials for the study of religion in Bremen&amp;lt;/strong&amp;gt;. the summer semester of 2021, the research area&amp;amp;nbsp;&amp;#039;Didactics&amp;#039; organised the digital lecture series &amp;#039;Religion and Education&amp;#039;. It took place on Monday evenings and registered lively participation across national borders. The digital format opened up the possibility of networking between the subject didactics of different religion classes, students and teaching staff. The fact that these encounters were on equal terms became particularly evident in the extensive discussions, which followed the presentations and in the final evaluations with the speakers in a more intimate breakout session.&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;
&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;The concept behind the lecture series was threefold:&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;
&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;1) The focus was on subject-didactical problems of particular relevance for interdenominational education as it exists in Bremen;&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;
&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;2) The lecture series was supported by early-career researchers;&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;
&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;3) The event took place digitally and thus offered the opportunity to expand participants’ individual horizons.&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;
