About 23,000 people learn, teach, research and work at the University of Bremen. It is one of eleven universities in Germany, called the University of Excellence, and is known for its strengths in natural sciences, engineering, social sciences and humanities.
It is the impetus to tackle societal problems and to develop innovative research approaches to their solution. Guests from all over the world enrich the campus life of the University of Bremen, which is known as a world-wide study and research center. Since its founding, it has stood for a close link between research and teaching. This is reflected in a number of study elements and a pronounced interdisciplinarity.
