openHUB #2: Experience digital innovation first-hand

DIGITAL HUB INDUSTRY Bremen opens its doors to everyone interested on the 17 of September

On 17 September 2026, the DIGITAL HUB INDUSTRY Bremen will reopen its doors, offering an insight into the hub, its stakeholders and the latest developments. A tour will take visitors through labs, collaboration and innovation spaces, and to various stations within the building. There, researchers, experts and start-ups will present their projects, technologies and latest developments.

We at FGRES are delighted to have the opportunity to present our Virtual Transformation Lab (VTL) at openHUB. The VTL provides an environment in which the complex transformation of the energy system can be shaped collaboratively with different stakeholder groups. The VTL offers both traditional analogue and digital interactive tools (LED wall and touch tables) to provide the best possible support for the various phases of transformation processes. As part of the hyBit research project, the focus was on the transformation of the steelworks in Bremen. During the openHUB tour, we’ll be offering a unique insight into the infrastructure, the project and its results.

As well as providing an insight into the work being carried out on site, openHUB offers an opportunity for questions, personal discussion and making new contacts through open networking.
