Objections to the notification of obligation to pay tuition fees
If there are objections concerning the calculation of the tuition fees, these can be submitted in writing in the frame of an objection. The letter of appeal must be addressed to the University of Bremen within the prescribed period. The grounds are to be stated on which the objection is raised. This can be done informally - with the reference "Objection". Evidence must be supplied supporting the named grounds. The decision on the objection is issued in writing. This is then the notice of cancellation or, if the objection cannot be remedied, a fee-based notice of objection.
Pursuant to Section 80 (2) no. 1 Verwaltungsgerichtsordnung, an objection to the notification of obligation to pay tuition fees has no delaying effect. To reregister, payment of the total amount (semester fee plus tuition) is required, provided the notification of obligation to pay tuition fees has not been canceled. A postponement of the payment obligation in the course of an opposition procedure presupposes a parallel written request for suspension of the execution of the (informal) notification of obligation to pay tuition fees (informal).
Leave of absence
If a leave of absence is required, a written request must be submitted by the reregistration date (15.02 or 15.08)! Students with the status of "leave" are exempt from tuition fees. Please specify the reason for the leave of absence and whether it is undertaken with or without a semester ticket.
