Erasmus initiative

The “Erasmus Initiative of the University of Bremen e.V.” is a group of former Erasmus students of the University of Bremen who organize many events (e.g. parties, excursions, sports events etc.) for international exchange students during the orientation weeks and during the semester.

Preparation Studies

The unique Preparation Studies allow you to enroll for up to two years as a Preparation Student while readying yourself for your German exam. You will receive, among others, your student ID, confirmation of registration and semester ticket for free public transport in Bremen and beyond. Get in touch with your university and make new friends!

Kompass is a team in the International Office of the University of Bremen which realizes international and intercultural projects. Our programs and events bring together foreign and German students. Work

Foreign students are allowed to work in Germany during their studies. However, there are certain legal regulations that must be observed. Graduates and scientific staff are supported and advised by the staff of the Career Center.

If you come to the University of Bremen via an exchange program, you can use the housing service of the International Office.

Financing Studies

The standard of living in Germany is high, as is the cost of participating in it! Applicants who are not from the European Union must prove that they have enough money to finance a year’s stay in Germany. Many students need a scholarship to supplement their own financial resources. Sometimes something unexpected happens and quick financial help is needed.

Mind the Gap! – Professional

“Mind the gap! – Professional” is a project of the University of Bremen aimed at preparating international students for the German job market and local jobs.
With workshops, seminars, company visits and job application training, the project promotes intercultural competences, language skills and soft skills of the participants.
In addition, the project supports the students in building up a professional network and informing themselves about possible occupational fields.

In “Mind the Gap!”, Bachelor, Master and doctoral students who are in the final phase of their studies receive preparation for their future careers.
