Good teaching and learning

  • University of Research-based Learning

The teaching profile of the University of Bremen is consistently oriented towards research-based learning. Research-based learning as a didactic principle includes activating teaching methods, but also proximity to current research and research processes and their reflection.

In recent years, the University of Bremen has integrated concepts of research-based learning into its courses of study in all faculties and thus linked research and teaching even more closely together.

The mission statement for teaching and study adopted by the Academic Senate in 2016 formulates our claim as the "University of Research-Based Learning": Research-based learning offers all students the opportunity to develop into responsible and critically thinking individuals with strong professional competence in a reflexive discourse.

Such projects are indispensable for the further development of teaching and learning at the University: New ideas are tested and examined in respect of their suitability for practical application and transferability.
