In this media practice seminar "Regulating Big Tech, Writing Policy Briefings" we develop policy briefings in the field of digital policy. The regulation of digital technologies has become a major policy field, both on the national level as well as on the supranational level such as the European Union. How to regulate misinformation and hate speeech? How secure the accountability of Big Tech for the risks they pose to democratic societies? And how to make sure that the development and deployment of AI technologies does not exacerbate existing inequalities and vulnerabilities in our society? In this seminar, we collaborate with the NGO Algorithm Watch, the leading think tank and public-interesst advocacy organisation in Europe in the field of digital policy. Together, we get to know the policy field and effective formats to advocate for change.
