practical fire drill: Emmy-Noether-Str. behind the SFG Building

Admission from 12 p.m., start at 12:15 p.m. The academic quarter does not apply to this event. Please arrive on time. Afterwards there will be a practical fire extinguishing exercise in the outside area behind the SFG-Building, place outside in the Emmy-Noether-Straße. The participants are asked to pay attention to weatherproof clothing and sturdy shoes, because the fire drill takes place outside.

Foundations of scientific work and practice
Reading scientific texts and publications
Contents: Publishing scientific texts, writing scientific reports and publications, planning, structuring and writing techniques, plagiarism and other issues and regulations.

Das Projekt bereitet darauf vor, komplexere Problemstellungen mit Praxis- und Forschungsbezug, eingebunden in die fachliche Umgebung eines Teams, zu bearbeiten und Lösungen zu entwickeln.
Neben der reinen Fachkompetenz werden dabei auch sog. „soft skills“ trainiert und entwickelt, wie:

• Zusammenarbeit im Team
• Verknüpfung unterschiedlicher interdisziplinärer Teilaspekte
• Entwicklung und Verteidigung eigener Lösungskonzepte
• Anwendung erlernter Grundlagen zur Lösung praktischer Aufgabenstellungen

Die konkrete Aufgabenstellung wird individuell vereinbart.

The students will learn about various research fields and applications of communication networks, which target the sustainable development goals (SDG) of the United Nations. The students will individually explore a given topic (with the help of research publications or other scientific materials) and prepare a presentation which will be discussed in class with the lecturer and the peers.

Registration for this lab must be done via Stud.IP.
The selection of participants will be done based on their grade in Control Theory I.
Please remember that this lab is in English. The preparation tasks therefore also have to be answered in English. Answers in German can not be accepted.
