Es ist ein modernes Fachgebiet, das sich vor allem mit der Struktur und den daraus resultierenden Eigenschaften von Materialien beschäftigt. Nahezu 70 % aller technischen Innovationen hängen direkt oder indirekt von Materialinnovationen ab. Daher sind die materialwissenschaftlichen Kompetenzen in allen Branchen moderner Industrie (z.B. Luft- und Raumfahrt, Automotive, Energie- und Umweltwirtschaft) sehr gefragt. Die Vorlesung bietet einen Überblick über die grundlegenden Fragen der Materialwissenschaft: Was sind die wichtigsten Eigenschaften von Materialien und wie werden sie ermittelt? Warum haben unterschiedliche Materialarten (Metalle, Polymere, Keramiken, Verbundwerkstoffe) unterschiedliche Eigenschaften? Wie sind Materialien strukturell aufgebaut und welchen Einfluss hat ihre Atom-, Nano- und Mikrostruktur auf die Eigenschaften? Wie können die Materialeigenschaften gezielt entwickelt und anwendungsspezifisch optimiert werden? Die Vorlesung ist insbesondere für die Studierenden der natur- und ingenieurwissenschaftlichen Fachrichtungen (Physik, Elektrotechnik, Chemie, Informatik, Produktionstechnik etc.) als einen Crashkurs in das Fachgebiet der Materialkunde von Werkstoffen zu empfehlen. It is laid out when and how responsibility arises. Basic moral values will be introduced, and together with common moral theories, these will be applied to several typical case studies in engineering. Various Codes of Ethics will be analyzed and discussed. We will also discuss values in the design process, environmental ethics, and space ethics. Semester ein Physikalisches Praktikum (PP) durch, wobei im 5. Semester 2 FP-Versuche (1 Bericht und 1 Poster) und im 6. Semester ein Projektpraktikum zu absolvieren sind mit einem Aufwand von insgesamt 120 h (4CP). Lt. Modulbeschreibung sind davon 40 h Präsenzzeit vorgesehen. Einer der beiden im 5.
