Fachbereich 09: Kulturwissenschaften

General Studies und Schlüsselqualifikationen (Wahlpflichtbereich) - FB 09

Im außerschulischen Zwei-Fächer-Bachelorstudium erwerben Studierende neben fachwissenschaftlichen auch fachübergreifende Kompetenzen in Form der " General Studies".

Im Fachbereich 09 gliedern sich die General Studies im ZWEI-FÄCHER-BACHELOR in einen fachwissenschaftlichen Pflichtanteil (P) und einen Wahlpflichtbereich (WP). Die Verteilung der General Studies richtet sich nach den Vorgaben des Profilfaches (BA-Struktur ab WS 11/12); nähere Informationen dazu , siehe: http://www.studienzentrum-fb9.uni-bremen.de/bachelor.html

Für Studierende der Studiengänge mit LEHRAMTSOPTION (ab dem WS 11/12) gilt:
für die zu studierenden Schlüsselqualifikationen (3 CP) kann aus dem hier aufgeführten Angebot des Fachbereichs 09 (Module GS I-X) oder dem Angebot der Erziehungswissenschaften (http://www.fb12.uni-bremen.de) frei gewählt werden.
Eine Kombination von Veranstaltungen/Modulen aus beiden Bereichen ist dabei nicht möglich.

Modul GS I - Angebote zur Studien- und Berufsorientierung

Ein Schwerpunkt des Fachbereichs Kulturwissenschaften orientiert sich an den Bedarfen der Studierenden zur \"Studien- und Berufsorientierung\". Die nachfolgenden Lehrveranstaltungen, Workshops, Infoveranstaltungen etc. werden exklusiv für die Studierenden des Fachbereichs 09 angeboten, um spezifische überfachliche Schlüsselkompetenzen oder Anregungen zur beruflichen Orientierung zu erlangen.

Die Themenbereiche werden aus der spezifischen Perspektive der Fächer gebildet. Als vertiefende Angebote finden Sie nachfolgend fachübergreifende Veranstaltungen zu den Feldern \"Diversität\" und \"Kulturelle Bildung\".

A. Diversity-Schwerpunkt

Feministische Konzepte und Diversität werden als Praxis gesellschaftspolitischer Teilhabe und als kritische Theorie(n) am Fachbereich Kulturwissenschaften diskutiert, erforscht und gelehrt. Entsprechend bilden Feminismus, Diversität und Transformation von Kultur, Religion, Kunst und Philosophie einen Schwerpunkt der Angebote im Bereich der General Studies.

In this class we will look critically at various forms of tourism in our globalized world. We will have approximately six guest speakers/presentations of the INPUTS Forum lecture series integrated into our class. And we will read some critical texts, literary texts and watch one or two documentary films.
Class requirements are regular attendance, in-depth knowledge of reading and viewing material, and active class discussion. Reading the texts and watching the films is mandatory. Please note that prior enrollment through StudIP is mandatory.

In this class we will first learn about approaches and tools to literary analysis before we look at how we read texts specifically from a postcolonial perspective. We will then read and discuss two postcolonial novels: 1. The Caribbean text Wide Sargasso Sea by Jean Rhys (here the Norton Critical Edition) and the Nigerian text Oil on Water by Helon Habila. Please purchase and read both texts, they are available at the university bookstore on Universitätsboulevard for 11 € each at the beginning of April. All other texts are provided via StudIP.

In this class we will first learn about approaches and tools to literary analysis before we look at how we read texts specifically from a postcolonial perspective. We will then read and discuss two postcolonial novels: 1. The Caribbean text Wide Sargasso Sea by Jean Rhys (here the Norton Critical Edition) and the Nigerian text Oil on Water by Helon Habila. Please purchase and read both texts, they are available at the university bookstore on Universitätsboulevard for 11 € each at the beginning of April. All other texts are provided via StudIP.
Class requirements are regular attendance, in-depth knowledge of reading and viewing material, and active class discussion. Reading the texts and watching the films is mandatory. Please note that prior enrollment through StudIP is mandatory.
