We discuss natural and anthropogenic climate variability with focus on their control and feedback mechanisms. We also provide basic knowledge of instrumental climate data, natural climate archives and climate model output for scenarios of past, present and future climate. All theoretical components of this module are connected to the societal aspect of climate change. The students will be challenged to discuss climate change impacts to different stakeholders and to communicate with them in a tailored manner. Bridging theoretical with practical knowledge, this course will enable the students to further spread correct scientific content to society and to get inspired and inspire others in the process.
