Re-Registration

Re-registration is confirmation of (continued) enrollment by paying the semester fee. You are responsible for re-registering yourself – you will not receive a separate request to do so. Students who wish to continue their studies in the coming semester must re-register by transferring the semester fee within the re-registration period (by February 15 for the summer semester and August 15 for the winter semester).

Please note that we must have your current address and that any changes to your health insurance must be sent digitally from your health insurance provider to the University of Bremen. Students who do not re-register by transferring the semester fee or who do not provide proof of health insurance will be exmatriculated.

For a semester of leave with or without a Germany semester ticket ("D-Seti" for short), an application must be submitted to the Student Office by the end of the re-registration period (February 15/August 15 of each year).

Provided there are no re-registration restrictions, the Student Affairs Office will re-register you or enroll you (►see documents for enrollment) upon receipt of the full semester fee. You will receive your study documents by mail. The Germany semester ticket will be provided to you electronically.

The semester documents include:

  • Your master data sheet for safekeeping for the exam
  • Your student ID card
  • Enrollment certificates
  • Your Bafög certificate

Germany semester ticket

Students at the University of Bremen receive the digital Germany semester ticket (D-Seti for short). The link to download the D-Seti will be sent to students by email by the Student Affairs Office after re-registration/enrollment in good time before the start of the semester (October 1/April 1).

Information about the D-Seti can be found on the website of the General Student Committee (ASTA) https://www.asta.uni-bremen.de/service/semesterticket/ in the section “Introduction of the Germany semester ticket for the winter semester 2024/2025” and at https://www.dein-semesterticket.de/.

As part of the provision of the D-Seti, the offices responsible for providing the D-Seti receive data from the University of Bremen and the AStA of the University of Bremen. Further information can be found in the data protection information.

The application for exemption from the Germany semester ticket must be submitted no later than two weeks after the start of lectures.
