Living in Bremen

Bremen has about 550,000 inhabitants – it's a medium-sized city in which you can quickly feel at home. The green Bürgerpark park, the River Weser, the extensive cultural opportunities all over the city, and a vibrant nightlife scene are just a few of the reasons.

As a student, you can go everywhere by bus and tram using the semester ticket. However, (almost) everything in Bremen is also easily reachable by bike.

Bremen's districts are colorful and diverse. Ostertor is the urban and bustling part of the city, stroll along the Weser for a maritime feel, in the iconic Neustadt district, or close to the University in Horn-Lehe; there is a place for everyone.

The Student Services Organisation Bremen offers affordable housing for students. In Bremen there is also private student housing, various housing associations, and of course there is always the private housing market.
