Living in Bremen
Bremen has about 550,000 inhabitants – a medium-sized city in which you can quickly feel at home. The green park Bürgerpark, the River Weser, the extensive cultural opportunities all over the city, and a vibrant nightlife scene are just a few of the reasons.
As a student, you can go everywhere by bus and train using the Semesterticket; but (almost) everything in Bremen is easily reachable by bike.
Bremen's districts are colorful and diverse, Ostertor is the urban and bustling part of the city, along the Weser for a maritime feel, the iconic Neustadt district or close to the University in Horn-Lehe; there is a place for everyone.
The Studentenwerk Bremen offers affordable housing for students. In Bremen there are also private residential accommodation, various housing associations, and of course there is always the private housing market.

International Studies
The internationalization of teaching and learning is one of the strategic goals of the University.
Teaching and learning content is internationally oriented. We enable our students to gain international experience, whether through a period studying abroad, an internships or through foreign language courses – ideally preparing them for the international labor markets in a globalized world.

Continuing Education
Combining working and studying. The University of Bremen offers a variety of ongoing education options for your professional development – practice-related and state-of-the-art. The spectrum of opportinities ranges from seminars, individual modules, extra occupational Master program.
In addition, we also have exciting programs for seniors in a wide range of disciplines.
As a guest student you can attend individual courses without having to enroll. All the University’s faculties offer this opportunity, so there is a wide range of courses to choose from.
