WHY does Sparkasse Bremen need algorithms?

HERE’S WHY – Algorithms are little calculation routines. Every program on a computer is an algorithm. Sparkasse Bremen uses thousands of them. They check whether a transfer is correct. They credit salary into an account. They help to find the best insurance offer. They make it possible to build assets securely. They lighten the load and support employees in routine tasks – this is something algorithms can do more adeptly. This leaves more time for one-on-one contact.

WHY is there a bit of the University of Bremen at Sparkasse Bremen?

HERE’S WHY – The world is becoming more digital – our virtual connectivity has increased, including to one another. Sparkasse Bremen is responding to this. It is digital and yet close by. For this reason, it cooperates increasingly with scientific research and also promotes start-ups. As of fall 2020, the Sparkasse head office has also been physically connected with the University of Bremen – thanks to the new building on the Technologiepark campus.
