Nursing Science with a focus on implementation and evaluation (position number JP 086/19)
For the professorship, we are looking for a person who, due to her previous achievements, reveals great potential for a researcher's career. The professorship is initially tendered for a period of three years. After an intermediate evaluation with an orienting character, it will be extended for another three years. Assuming a positive evaluation after six years at the latest, it will be transferred into a lifetime professorship (W2). In order to distinguish itself scientifically, a graduated entry into teaching activities for junior professors is guaranteed.
The University of Bremen has defined Health Sciences as one of six interdisciplinary high profile areas and offers a dynamic nursing- and health science research environment. The professorship "Nursing Science with a focus on implementation and evaluation" is located at the Institute for Public Health and Nursing Research (IPP) of the University of Bremen.
The position holder should represent the area of nursing science with a focus on implementation and evaluation in research and teaching. Moreover, the job holder should strengthen the research profile in the nursing and health sciences.
He / she will be obliged to teach in particular in the BA/MA courses in nursing- but also in the health sciences of the faculty and to participate in the conceptual further development of study programs.
A pertinent university degree including a relevant doctorate degree with good or very good results and furthermore first experiences of independent research and teaching, pedagogical suitability as well as the capability to teach in German from the beginning are employment requirements. We are looking for a candidate with broad theoretical and empirical knowledge of Nursing Science, in particular of Implementation Sciences and Evaluation. Additionally, excellent knowledge in empirical nursing research, if possible both quantitative and qualitative methods, is expected. The willingness to further education in higher education, experience in self-administration, consideration of gender and diversity aspects as well as international experiences and cooperation are desired.
Appointments are based on §§ 18 and 18a BremHG and §117 BremBG. Applicants who have already earned their PhD in Bremen should have changed their university after completing a doctorate or have worked for at least two years outside the University of Bremen. Regardless of the temporal distance to the doctorate, previous doctoral and employment phases at German universities or state-funded or state-subsidized research institutions should not exceed in total more than six years.
