Under the theme "Knowledge Creates Value – Putting Science to Use," roughly 500 participants will gather to discuss new developments in the natural sciences, medicine, and technology. The talks and panel discussions are open not only to members and researchers but also to anyone with an interest in science. Admission is free for scientific staff at the University of Bremen and Bremen University of Applied Sciences, as well as for students and schoolchildren. Online registration for the scientific program is open until September 7 at https://www.gdnae.de/en/home/. Attendees can also register in person at the conference office during the event.
University of Bremen researchers will also take the stage. Lutz Mädler, professor of mechanical process engineering at the University of Bremen and director of the Leibniz Institute for Materials Engineering (IWT), will speak on " Heteroaggregate – Bausteine aus der Gasphase” (Heteroaggregates: Building Blocks from the Gas Phase). Nicole Dubilier, director of the Max Planck Institute for Marine Microbiology in Bremen and professor at the University of Bremen, will present " Ein Ozean von Symbiosen: Warum sich Kooperationen lohnen” (An Ocean of Symbioses: Why Cooperation Pays Off).
