Kiel University Elects Vice President Michal Kucera as President

Professor Michal Kucera, Vice President for Research and Transfer at the University of Bremen, has been elected president of Kiel University by its senate.

This election is a testament to the high regard in which Kucera is held for his work on the University of Bremen’s executive board. At the same time, it demonstrates that the experience and skills gained during his tenure as vice principal qualify him for demanding new leadership roles.

Michal Kucera: “Over the past years, the University of Bremen has had a significant influence on my professional career. I am very grateful for the trust and support that I have received from the university management, researchers, staff, and students. The University of Bremen has provided me with many opportunities, which I deeply appreciate, and I will continue to dedicate myself fully to the university until my departure.”

I would like to thank him for his dedication, outstanding commitment, and excellent work for the University of Bremen.”

The exact date of his inauguration has not yet been determined. First, further procedural steps and negotiations with the state of Schleswig-Holstein must be completed.
