The U Bremen Research Alliance and the interdisciplinary DataNord data competence center in Bremen are jointly hosting Research Data Day. The event will take place on April 15 starting at 4:30 p.m. in the Banking Hall in the Forum at Domshof building.
Research Data Day highlights data initiatives from the Bremen-Oldenburg region and creates opportunities for exchange and networking. The evening combines keynote talks with the presentation of the 2026 Data Champion Award and a panel discussion.
Research data is the foundation of responsible science, innovation, and societal action. It plays a key role in driving the development of artificial intelligence and machine learning. At the same time, AI applications can efficiently support processes in research data management.
The Northwest region boasts a robust research data ecosystem, which will be showcased during this event. Together, the participating initiatives create reliable structures for sustainable research data management, secure data access, and cross-institutional collaboration in accordance with the FAIR principles. In doing so, they address key issues such as IT security, data sovereignty, and the trustworthy use of AI to strengthen the ties between research, policy, and practice.
The event is aimed at researchers, research leaders, infrastructure providers, policymakers, media professionals, and others interested in data.
