University of Bremen celebrates OPEN CAMPUS!

The countdown is on: under the motto "Open world - share knowledge" the OPEN CAMPUS starts on Friday, 21st June 2013 a 3 pm. Visitors will experience the University life with mix of science shows, science slam, research and teaching, party and concerts as well as international performances. At 8.30 pm the open air party starts with Grillmaster Flash, the soul musician Flo Mega and DJ Rossi. The University of Bremen invites everybody. The entrance is for free.

Campus-Park: Central stage, 50 Pagodas, KINDERCAMPUS und Start for 90 guided tours

Core of the OPEN CAMPUS are the 50 pagodas as well as the stage of Bremen Vier within the Campus Park. At 3 pm a variegated program starts here. Along the Bibliothekstraße, all twelve faculties, institutes as well as service- and counseling institutions of the University of Bremen present themselves.

Participate in a small quiz and you will be able to get the first prize: a visit to the 146 meters high Bremen Drop Tower. The younger visitor can explore various fascinating things on the KINDERCAMPUS [children's campus] right next to the Bremen Vier stage: They can produce their on shower gel or illuminate clothes by moving or they explore crayfish.

The infopoint - start for 90 guided tours in German and English - is also in the Campus Park. Here, registration is required. Please come to the infopoint at least 15 minutes before the tour starts. The tours give insight into university and various institutes like the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) or the restoring studio of the State and University Library (SuUB).

„OPEN CAMPUS international“ in front of the Administration Building

Multicultural is the motto in the garden of nations: On the OPEN CAMPUS international several students' communities present themselves with music, informations and culinary delectabilities. You'll have the chance to get to know them together with the International Office (IO) and the Center for foreign languages of the state of Bremen.

Special Guest: The Orchestra of the Ocean University of China. They will perform at 7 pm at the Haus am Walde (in case of bad weather in the lecture hall of the GW1 across the Universum). Visitors will hear an appitizer at 6 pm on the Bremen Vier stage in the Campus Park.

NW1 Building: 20 interesting short presentations on latest issues

About 20 short presentations on latest issues are waiting for you in the NW 1 Building in the Otto-Hahn-Allee. Researches report for example on their researches on fighting diabetes, on how to philosophize with children or on fan culture in football.

Sportturm and MZH-Building: 22 introductory offers and six exhibitions

Have you always wanted to dance Salsa or to try boxing? Than you should visit the Sportturm. From 2 pm on 22 introductory offers are waiting for you. In the MZH (multifunctional building) six smaller exhibitions compiled by students and researchers give a fabulous insight in their projekts. Like students from the faculty of computer sciences present their app especially programmed for the OPEN CAMPUS. Or you can try to perform an emergengy landing within a 3D flight simulator. Other students present their online magazine "KROSSE.info" - magazine for culture, media and lifestyle.
