To make their start as pleasant and uncomplicated as possible, the university welcomed them with a reception as part of the welcome event, which included a joint breakfast at the campus dining hall (Mensa).
The exchange students hail from over twenty countries, with the most significant representation coming from Turkey, Italy, and Ukraine. “This international diversity creates an ideal setting for an interesting dialogue," stated Dr. Mandy Boehnke, Vice President for International Affairs, Academic Qualification, and Diversity, in her speech. "Studying abroad involves more than just seminars. It's also about getting to know a different culture and new perspectives – both in academia and beyond."
The Language Center and the Erasmus Initiative introduced themselves and presented their support and learning services. After breakfast, guided tours were offered to help the international students familiarize themselves with the campus.
