Prior to this, the art educator and art mediator held the research professorship in arts didactics at Pädagogische Hochschule Schwyz. Other positions held by her include a lectureship in the MA Art Education degree program at the Bern Academy of the Arts and the Bern University of Teacher Education, as well as academic assistant positions at the University of Cologne, the University of Bremen, the Heidelberg University of Education, and Kunsthochschule Kassel.

Her research focus includes “the ability to draw” as a paradigm for art education, strategies and agency of art educators, and the conditions and strategies of post-digital art education. Additional areas of focus include critical art education in the context of contemporary art, memes as a subversive practice in the classroom, and the histories of art education using the example of the documenta art exhibition.

As co-founder of agency art education and editor of The Art Educator’s Talk blog, she raises awareness of extracurricular art education. She is also co-editor of the SFKP e-Journal Art Education Research, as well as the open educational resources for educators MYOW.org, PIAER-texts, and DIDAE. Since 2017, she has been a board member of the Swiss Society for Art Education (SFKP), and since 2024, she has served as an international council member of the Wissenschaftliche Sozietät für Kunst Medien Bildung.
