Work on University Website Is Going Ahead

The University of Bremen’s new website went online in September 2010, presented in a modern design and illustrated with large-format photos. Since then, visitors to the site have been able to obtain detailed information under the headings “University”, “Studies”, “Research”, “International”, “Continuing Education” and “Service”, making it much easier to navigate through the different areas.

In the meantime, “Phase 1” has been successfully brought to conclusion. “Phase 2”, which entails creating an intranet for University employees, is already well under way. The intranet will encompass all the information, documents and blank forms they need for everyday work, capable of being accessed from a single point in an easy-to-use manner.

Another important component of the second project phase involves incorporating the different departments, sections and university units contained in the “old” web pages into the new central website via the content management system, Typo3. As of today’s date, all units within the University can apply for their own homepages to be included in Typo3 – and therewith into the new central website. Application forms and details of conditions and can be obtained at Typo3 Support under Eigener Webauftritt. You can access these pages using your ZfN log-in data.
