Annelie Keil was one of the first female professors at the University of Bremen and has worked there for over 30 years in the fields of social sciences, health sciences and health research, and applied biographical and lifeworld research. In addition to her ongoing university involvement, she is often involved socially in hospice movement, for example. The decision to honor Annelie Keil was made by the Senate of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen on March 1, 2019. “With her scientific work and expertise, Annelie Keil has earned a high reputation far beyond the borders of Bremen as a knowledgeable and highly committed social and health scientist,” explains Mayor of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen, Carsten Sieling.
