                            <description>&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;The department of social epidemiology at the institute for public health and nursing research at the university of bremen pursues the goal of contributing to decrease health inequalities. For this purpose, theories, problems und methods from the social and environmental epidemiology are combined&amp;amp;nbsp;to identify social inequalities in health and evaluate interventions with regard to equity impacts.&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;
&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Transdisciplinary research approaches are utelized to link scientific and pratical knowledge and solve social problems. The interdisciplinary team comprises members from public health, epidemiology, theoretical medicine, mathematics, geography, spatial planning, sociology and data management.&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;
