The Erasmus program, initiated by the European Commission, promotes student mobility with partners in the Erasmus area. The University of Bremen has been awarded the Erasmus Charter for the entire duration of the Erasmus + program on the basis of its Erasmus education declaration.
With the award of the Erasmus University Charter valid until 2020, the University of Bremen is entitled to apply for and implement ERASMUS + measures.
ERASMUS + fellows do not have to pay tuition fees at the European University during their semester abroad, and they receive a mobility grant in three country categories from the current 300-420 Euro per month (for 5 or 10 months for 1-2 semester stays abroad). All information about the ERASMUS + program can be found on the pages of the International Office.
If students receive a BAföG while in Germany, they will also receive BAföG while in a foreign country. For this purpose, a separate application must be submitted to the office responsible for the respective country .
The application should be submitted 6 months before the start of the stay abroad. With a more favorable tax base, it is quite possible that you will receive foreign BAföG, even though you were considered ineligible in Germany.
For particularly good study achievements and social commitment, it is possible to apply for a scholarship from the DAAD (www.daad.de). The scholarship database on the DAAD website lists a large number of possible scholarships.
DAAD scholarships that go beyond a one-semester stay abroad outside of Europe (study or internship) are applied for via the central International Office as part of the "PROMOS" program. PROMOS can also support internships, language courses and specialist courses outside of Europe. More information here.
In addition, the Ministry of Education and Research offers a comprehensive scholarship database, called Scholarship Counseling.
Please note that sometimes there are very early application deadlines.
