Research field 1: Policy and System Analyses

The research area „Policy and System Analyses“ mainly deals with innovation, regional and structural economic analyses. A core activity is the development of new experimental designs in connection with empirical and simulation based techniques. They serve the analysis of systemic processes and questions related to particular policy fields. Behavioural approaches, simulations, empirical data and econometric procedures are used in order to answer complex economic and policy related questions. In the “Policy Lab”, results are presented for relevant stakeholders using particular visualisation and communication methods in order to integrate their expertise throughout the research process for a better practical usability of project findings. The research area makes use of the entire breadths of the BreLAB facilities, that means the classical “Research Lab” as well as the “Policy Lab”.
