Vita

Sabine Horn is Senior Lecturer for Didactics of History on the University of Bremen. From the winter semester 2011/12 until summer semester 2015, she has been teaching in the field of Public History in the Department of History (history didactics). She previously worked as a research associate at the Department of Medieval and Modern History of the Georg-August-University Göttingen from 2005 to 2011. In the winter semester 2008/09, she held the interim professorship for Modern History / History Didactics (W3) at the University of Siegen. She earned her doctorate at the University of Bremen on the topic: "Visual Mementos - Auschwitz Trial (1963-65) and Majdanek process (1975-81) in West German television” (published at Klartext in 2009). The PhD project was supported by a doctoral scholarship from the Heinrich-Böll-Foundation. Since 2001 she has been  editor and co-editor of the magazine  WerkstattGeschichte; since 2005 liaison lecturer and a consultant for the Heinrich-Böll-Foundation.
Horn has headed several museum educational projects and media history workshops for students and teachers. She is President of the Association of History Teachers Germany / Bremen Regional Association (since May 2007). 2007/08 she led the evaluation of the Central High School Diploma for the subject History of North Rhine-Westphalia (together with Ulrike Hartmann, Matthias Martens, Michael Sauer, Birte Wolfrum).
