The book "The Mediated Construction of Reality" by Andreas Hepp and Nick Couldry, faces the question of how social theory needs to be rethought in the world of digital media. How social theory can understand the processes through which an everyday world is constructed in and through the media. Moreover, drawing on Schütz, Elias, and many other social and media theorists, the authors ask: What are the implications of the profound involvement of digital media in these processes? Is the result a social world that is stable and livable, or one that is increasingly unstable and unlivable?

The current translation into Chinese was prepared by Dr Yangyu Liu. He is an Associate Professor at Nanjing University of Finance & Economics in China.
