The IACS 2023 Summit of the International Association for Communication and Sport was organised by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) (ESP) and the University of Alabama (UA) (USA) and thus took place outside the USA for the first time.

The extensive programme reflected the greatly increased importance of sports communication research in recent years, especially internationally.

ZeMKI member Dr. Philip Sinner was represented there with two presentations as first author:

Social Media Usage by Bundesliga Players: A Structural Analysis of the Social Media of all Bundesliga Players in the 2021/2022 Season and the Social Media Use of Selected Players (together with Fabian Schwenk).
Communicative Challenges and Strategies of Austrian and German Grassroot Sports Clubs in the Third Year of the Covid-19 Pandemic (together with Jörg-Uwe Nieland)
Noah Jagels, student assistant in the Datafication and Mediatisation Lab at the University of Bremen, was also involved in the preparation of both presentations.
