On November 30, 2012 the Centre for Media, Communication and Information Research of the University of Bremen hosts an international symposium about "Communicative Figurations". The ZeMKI is together with the University of Hamburg and the Hans-Bredow-Institut for Media Research a member of a research network with the same title (www.communicative-figurations.net). The conference language is English.
At the symposium "Communicative Figurations" several members of the research network present approaches and topics around the four study areas "individuum", "relations" and "fields: Prof. Dr. Andreas Hepp, Prof. Dr. Friedrich Krotz, Prof. Dr. Uwe Schimank, Prof. Dr. Inge Marszolek, Prof. Dr. Stefanie Averbeck-Lietz and Prof. Dr. Andreas Breiter are going to participate.
Furthermore, the following international guests are invited:
- Prof. Dr. Nick Couldry, Goldsmith College, University of London, will talk about the challenges of mediatization research
- Prof. Dr. Stig Hjarvard, University of Copenhagen, presents his thoughts about "Mediatization and soft individualism"
- Prof. Dr. Knut Lundby, University of Oslo, will speak about "Media and the field of religion"
- Prof. Dr. Hubert Knoblauch, TU Berlin, will do a lecture about communication, mediatization and social relationships.
