Media Education and Educational Media
The Lab "Media and Education" explores how the on-going mediatisation process changes the culture of individual and collective learning processes and their interactions. A particular focus lies on the question of whether under the influence of mediatization individuals define their curriculum increasingly for themselves (individualization) and to what extent the user participatory media collectively absorb the normalization functions of existing educational institutions (collectivisation thesis), or to what extent these developments are accompanied by a dissolution of territorial structures that have been dominant in educational contexts so far (deterritorialisation thesis).
