About this workshop:
For many fat people, experiences of exclusion and discrimination are part of everyday life - e.g. in the public sphere, in education, on the labour market and in health care. However, while other dimensions of diversity are openly talked about and discrimination is clearly named, discrimination against fat people is often not yet recognised as a form of discrimination. This workshop will explore the following questions: - What are the experiences of fat people in our society? - Which areas of life are particularly affected? - What is the impact of discrimination? In addition, the participants will reflect on their own social positioning with regard to the topic. Moreover, the workshop will focus on the question of how weight discrimination is related to other dimensions of diversity and other inequalities. In addition, options for dealing with fat hate - either as victims or as allies - will be developed.
Due to a limited number of places we kindly ask to register until Jan. 20, 2022.
