This workshop is part of the MAPEX Doctoral Qualification Programme. We aim to support and train doctoral candidates in acquiring transversal skills and developing useful competencies for future leading tasks inside and outside of academia.

 

Workshop Description:

Learn how to effectively communicate your research through engaging videos using just your smartphone. This hands-on workshop covers the basics of filming, editing, and storytelling to showcase your science to a broader audience. Gain practical tips on shooting high-quality footage, enhancing visuals with simple techniques, and crafting compelling narratives to make your work stand out. Perfect for researchers and scientists aiming to amplify their impact through digital media!

- Master Smartphone Filming Basics
Understand key techniques for shooting high-quality video with your smartphone, including framing, lighting, and stabilization.

Target Group:

Practical Information: 

- Participants should bring their own smartphones (fully charged) and, if possible, a tripod or smartphone stabilizer.

- Basic video editing apps will be introduced during the session; instructions for downloading will be provided in advance.

 

Workshop Instructor:

Matthias Süßen is an experienced science communicator and social media manager specializing in video production and storytelling. With a strong background in digital education and extensive experience conducting workshops, he empowers researchers to effectively share their work through engaging video content.
