(AKAD27) Interkulturalität und Sprachvertiefung - English as a Lingua Franca

This seminar focuses on the various elements of a world language, giving participants the opportunity to expand their core vocabulary while revisiting common structures in realistic contexts to increase linguistic proficiency in all four skills. Course material making use of authentic texts on various aspects of culture, society and the natural world will be used to explore relevant issues. These will provide the basis for language and discussion activities, furthering critical thinking skills as well as encouraging the use of e.g. idioms and collocations. In conjunction with the development of cultural awareness this will help facilitate effective communication. Participants’ suggestions are welcome, and particular interests may be accommodated when possible.
