The students will learn about various research fields and applications of communication networks, which target the sustainable development goals (SDG) of the United Nations. The students will individually explore a given topic (with the help of research publications or other scientific materials) and prepare a presentation which will be discussed in class with the lecturer and the peers.

The fire drill is mandatory for all students whose study programme contains laboratory work. Admittance to lab work only after participation in this fire drill.

The lecture presents an overview and introduces important protocols for important types of wireless ad-hoc networks, including classical mobile ad-hoc networks (MANETs), vehicular ad-hoc networks (VANETs) and the emerging class of flying ad-hoc networks (FANETs).

Further seminar dates upon agreement with the students.

The lecture gives an insight into the requirements of the oral and visual presentation of (scientific) work and results.
Students will be required to present the content of a scientific publication as final exam.

The initial organisational meeting of this lab, including grouping will take place on October 23th from 14-16h in room NW1 N1250.
