Pflanzenschutzmittel: Forscherteam fordert Umdenken. Die Zulassungspraxis von Pflanzenschutzmitteln verfehlt die angestrebten Umweltstandards und trägt zum Verlust von biologischer Vielfalt bei. Deshalb fordert eine internationale Expertenguppe unter Beteiligung der Universität Bremen eine Veränderung des Zulassungsverfahrens.

01.06.2018: Plant Protection and Environment - Due to recent dramatic declines especially of bees and other insects and the recent ban of some neonicotinoids in the EU the loss of biodiversity has increasingly gained public awareness. On May 23 2018, the German Academy of Sciences (Leopoldina) published a discussion paper based on an expert group meeting held in 2017. "The Silent Spring - on the Need for Sustainable Plant Protection", co-authored by Prof. Juliane Filser, calls for changes in the European authorisation procedure for plant protection products. 09.04.2018:  Moira McKee very successfully defended her PhD thesis entitled "Effects of silver nanoparticles on Collembola - from exposure situation to community interactions". Congratulations, dear Moira! We are very happy that you will stay with us for a few more years as a Postdoc!

 

05.03.2018: Two new students, Chiu-Hsiang Chieh (MSc Ecology) and Aboudi El Rabih (BSc Biology, Excellence module “LabTop”) attended their first group meeting: welcome to our group!

 

15.02.2018: After a three-month research stay with us, Danra Dieudonne is returning to his home university Ngaoundéré, Cameroon. It was a pleasure having you with us!

 

31.01.2018: Last working day of Dr. Yvonne Sakka, after almost seven years with us: thank you so much for all your engagement and inspiration, and the very best wishes for your future!

 

15.01.2018: After more than a decade of exclusively successful and pleasant cooperation, my UFT colleague PD Dr.Stefan Stolte and his wife Dr.Marta Markiewicz gave their goodbye-party. We will terribly miss you and wish you all the best for your future as Professor of Water Chemistry at the University of Dresden – trusting that the spatial distance won't stop us from pursuing common projects.
