Ronja Weidemann completed her Bachelor‘s degree in media studies and art history at the University of Bonn. Her interdisciplinary bachelor thesis thematized the representation of historical events in art and media. During her master’s degree in Cultural Media Analysis at the Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, she dealt with various scientific perspectives, including psychoanalysis and social sciences. In addition to that she expended her knowledge in the field of game studies, resulting in the master thesis “Between you, me and us - between self-presentation, reflection and distancing. Investigating the duality of personal and social identity by taking the example of the relationship between Let's Player, avatar and community in video games”. Since January 2022, she is a research associate at the ZeMKI and part of the interdisciplinary collaboration between the labs "Media and Religion" and "Film, Media Art and Popular Culture".
