Das Thema der diesjährigen International Assosiation of Communication ist "Reclaiming Authenticity in Communication". Die Konferenz lädt Kommunikationswissenschaftler:innen dazu ein, zu untersuchen, wie Authentizität in öffentlichen Diskursen und in der Populärkultur auf der ganzen Welt eher zu einer Variablen als zu einer Konstante geworden ist, und welche relationalen, sozialen, politischen und kulturellen Auswirkungen dies hat.
Auch einige Mitglieder des ZeMKIs reisen zu der Tagung nach Toronto und nehmen mit ihrer Forschung und diversen Vorträgen an dem internationalen Diskurs und Austausch teil.
