"Evolution of European Data Protection Law"

Guest lecture by Thomas Streinz of the NYU School of Law within the framework of the seminar "European Administrative Law" of interim professor Andrej Lang

The guest lecture provided students with interesting insights into the development, structure and future of European data protection law. After the lecture, they had the opportunity to discuss these topics with Professor Streinz. The seminar session also included student presentations by Ms Nadeeka Kularathna on "The Role and Responsibilities of Data Protection Officers in Ensuring GDPR Compliance“ and Ms Ana Gorgodze on "From „Safe Harbor“ to „Privacy Shield“: Transatlantic data transfers between the EU and the US“.

Thomas Streinz is Executive Director of Guarini Global Law & Tech and Adjunct Professor of Law at the New York University School of Law. He is a renowned expert in the field of internet governance, regulation of the global data economy and the intersection between global law and technology. At NYU he teaches a course on global data law.
