Personnel Development

The subject of personnel development is one of the lead projects of the U Bremen Research Alliance. The development of coordinated personnel development strategies focuses on both young scientists and science-supporting staff. Therefor, the cooperative use of existing funding offers is promoted and joint appearances at career fairs are organised. The Alliance is characterized by structures that are used across the board, the creation of its own formats and the mutual opening of existing offers.

Doctoral Studies

The members of the U Bremen Research Alliance cooperate closely in the area of ​​promoting young scientists and doctoral projects. Many of the scientific employees of the non-university partners in the U Bremen Research Alliance do their doctorates in the departments of the University of Bremen. The International Graduate School "ArcTrain - Processes and Impacts of Climate Change in the North Atlantic Ocean and the Canadian Arctic" provides doctoral students with a structured interdisciplinary environment to tackle the challenges of accelerated climate change in the Arctic. Leibniz Graduate School SUTAS

With an interdisciplinary perspective, the Graduate School SUTAS (Sustainable Use of Tropical Aquatic Systems) is focusing on socio-ecological issues in tropical coastal regions. The Graduate School is supported by the U Bremen Research Alliance partners University of Bremen, Leibniz Institute for Prevention Research and Epidemiology - BIPS GmbH and Leibniz Center for Marine Tropical Research. The Welcome Center of the U Bremen Research Alliance supports researchers and their families before and during their stay in Bremen, regardless of the length of their stay or how the stay is financed.

As a central service point, it assists all new coming researchers in non-academic matters to help organize their life in Bremen and make it as enjoyable and uncomplicated as possible. Whether you are here for a month or have been appointed to a permanent post, our services are available to you.
